Uda is one of the few humans to survive a Parasite infection without losing his head—literally. Like Shinichi, he got unlucky when a Parasite merged with him, but instead of taking over his brain, it lodged in his lower jaw. The Parasite, which Uda eventually names Jaw, is basically the opposite of him: crude, brash, and weirdly funny. It likes to grab control of Uda's mouth whenever it feels like it, contorting his face and making him blurt out bizarre or inappropriate stuff.
Uda and Jaw end up befriending Shinichi and Migi, though their preference is honestly just to keep their heads down and avoid other Parasites entirely. The jaw location has its trade-offs—Uda's not exactly built for combat, and being on the heavier side means he gets winded pretty easily during fights. That said, Jaw can extend down into his chest, which actually works in his favor since it shields his heart from the typical killing blow other Parasites go for.
Personality-wise, Uda's a laid-back guy most of the time. Pressure makes him nervous though, and he's the type to cry at the drop of a hat. He works as a hotel employee, which probably suits his generally peaceful nature.
