Shing Meteoryte is the protagonist of Tales of Hearts. He grows up in the small town of Seeble with his grandfather Zeks, living a pretty normal life—or so it seems. What most people don't know is that Shing's inherited a rare ability to use Soma from both his grandfather and mother, something he's kept under wraps. His grandfather eventually hands him down Asteria, a Soma that's been in their family for generations.
The real turning point comes when Shing discovers Kohak and her brother Hisui Hearts washed up on the beach. That chance encounter kicks off his whole adventure, pulling him out of his quiet hometown and into something much bigger than he expected.
