Taketsuna Gori holds the 5th Seat in the 3rd Division under Captain Roujuurou Otoribashi.
During the Vandenreich invasion, Gori finds himself stationed with Lieutenant Izuru Kira and other divisional officers at the base of one of the massive blue flame pillars. He's visibly restless, complaining about the wait and eager for the enemy to finally show themselves. When the Reishi Investigation Team confirms a Quincy is inside the flame, Izuru gives the order to attack—but gets badly wounded before making a real impact. Rikū Togakushi then orders the remaining Shinigami to draw their Shikai. Gori releases his own, but he's outmatched. The Quincy makes quick work of him, slamming his head hard into the ground.
