Character Overview
Ryomou's most striking feature is her short blue hair, green eyes, and the mysterious eye-patch covering her left eye—which hints at a troubled past nobody really talks about. She's one of the Four Devas of Nanyo and best known for two things: wrestling moves and a blue maid outfit she wears constantly. She fights with handcuffs and can throw solid chi blasts, making her a legitimately dangerous B-rank fighter.
Her Story (Manga)
Before becoming a Toushi, Ryomou's history is pretty much a mystery, though fans suspect it was rough. She's been tight with Teifu and Saji since way before the series started—she loves Saji, and Teifu loves her, though Ryomou's always insisted she belongs to no one. She just fights because it's fun.
Three years before the main story, Ryomou's dragon awakened during a fight with Ryubi. In that moment, Ryubi's dragon somehow ended up sealed in Ryomou's left eye, and the two have coexisted in perfect harmony ever since. It's wild because no other character has that kind of sync with their dragon. The thing is, she seals it away with the eye-patch and allegedly it's slowly killing her. Only a few people know about this, and it's unclear if she has her own dragon now or if they're truly sharing.
When she taps into that eye, her power matches the Three Rulers. That dragon's also healed her from fatal wounds—like when Teni stabbed her through the heart. There's a theory her eye-patch might reference an old Chinese idiom about seeing people in a new light without judging their surface, something historically tied to Lu Meng.
Anime Version
The anime version is pretty different. She's cold and emotionless, way less interested in people or relationships. She doesn't have history with Seito or Ryubi like in the manga, and her dragon seems to be entirely her own. Instead of being aloof, she's genuinely close with Hakufu and actively helps her out—even went solo to hunt down the Dragon Jade to save her.
After getting ambushed by Teni, Ryomou awakened her dragon and won the fight, though she took serious damage. Chou-un showed up, knocked her out, and brought her back to Nanyo with the Dragon Jade. Chou-un even admitted that if Ryomou hadn't been injured, she probably would've lost.
By the Battle of Chibi, Ryomou had fully recovered and beat Myousai. These days she's working with Hakufu at a cosplay cafe—dressed as a cat maid with a heart-shaped eye-patch, which is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.
