Smiley Sakai is another Todo School driver and Daiki's friend. He's known for his intense concentration while racing—his facial expression naturally tightens into what looks like a constant grin, which is how he got his nickname. He drives a turbocharged Integra Type R DC2 and notably faces off against Keisuke from Project D in a hillclimb battle. Like Daiki, he's also a student at Todo School.
