A strong bisexual fighter known for her promiscuous personality, skimpy fashion sense, and impressive chi-blast abilities. She had genuine feelings for both Saji and her best friend Chinkyuu, though her relationship with Saji was complicated—she claims he raped her, while he dismisses it by saying she enjoyed it anyway.
Ryofu was terminally ill and didn't have long to live. Despite trying to avoid her fate, she ended up fulfilling it when Saji manipulated her into orchestrating Toutaku's death. After discovering that Chinkyuu had been assaulted, Ryofu sought revenge as one of her last acts. She faced off against Myosai, but her failing health made her an easy target. Chinkyuu saved her from being killed, and the two chose to die together by double suicide—mirroring what their predecessors had done 1800 years earlier.
The anime version played things differently. Rather than the tactician she was in the manga, anime Ryofu came across as more of a thug who was easily swayed by Saji. She was crueler and more overtly sexual, even molesting Ryomou rather than just teasing her. Her end was similar but altered: she died in a chi-blast suicide alongside Toutaku instead of Chinkyuu, since Chinkyuu didn't survive as long in the anime.
Season three complicates things further. A mysteriously resurrected Ryofu appears, initially shy and kind—basically the opposite of who she was. She's amnesiac at first, but after being brainwashed by Saji, she becomes artificially cheerful and is used to mess with Ryomou's head. It's eventually revealed she's more ghost than living person, something Saji partially brought back from the dead. By the end, she fades away again, leaving behind only a quiet "thank you" when Saji prays at her tomb.
