Kiyoshi is a tall, dark-haired guy with an average build who noticeably gets more muscular over the course of the series, particularly during his time locked up in the Prison Block. He's got black eyes and a pretty lean frame early on.
While imprisoned, he wears the standard male uniform—a white striped shirt and matching trousers.
What makes Kiyoshi stand out is his levelheadedness. He's got genuine resolve under pressure, which sets him apart from the other boys who tend to let their impulses run wild. Where they get carried away, he stays rational and grounded. He's basically the most normal of the group both personality-wise and appearance-wise, and he's also the story's main narrator, filtering the manga's internal monologue through his perspective.
That said, he's not some virtuous paragon. He's tenacious enough, but without the outright perverted stubbornness the others have. He's also willing to do unexpected things when cornered—like cross-dressing to escape the Prison Block—which catches even his friends off guard. There's a self-serving streak to him too; he's been known to not fully realize when he's being selfish, like when he planned to use money the group had pooled together for his own purposes. And while he generally keeps his cool, he can be surprisingly insecure around other students and is sometimes pushed into action more by other people's determination than his own.
