Xia Ling graduated from college with a degree in architecture, but her early career has been pretty standard stuff—hitting up job fairs, polishing her resume, grinding through interviews. Nothing particularly exciting until a random encounter with a fortune teller pulled her straight out of that ordinary life and into something completely different: the hidden world of Requiem Streets and spirits.
She didn't exactly want to be part of it. The whole thing felt forced on her, especially once the Kingdom Organisation started hunting her down for reasons she still doesn't fully understand. With nowhere else to go, she ended up taking shelter at Rakshasa Street, where her life actually starts to change.
That's where Cao Yanbing and his brother Cao Xuanliang come in. They take her under their wing—first as protection, then as actual training. As she learns to navigate this strange new environment, she gradually discovers things about herself too. It's less about being thrown into a new world and more about finding out who she actually is within it.
