He's the son of the late General Yu-Hon and older cousin to Yona. Growing up, he was part of an inseparable trio with Yona and Hak—the three were genuinely close as kids. That bond didn't last.
He killed Yona's father, King Il, and took the throne as Kouka's 11th king. His stated mission is to reunify the kingdom and restore it to its former glory, which he sees as essential after what he views as King Il's weak reign. Whether his ambitions align with that stated goal, or go beyond it, depends on who's telling the story.
