Ginko's the cheerful, energetic type—always upbeat and cute, with an oddly specific scent of lilies that tends to stick around her. She transferred into the school, and there's definitely something not entirely human about her, though she and Kureha end up becoming genuine friends pretty quickly.
The anime gives her backstory way more weight. She was abandoned as a baby and spent years isolated, caught up in some brutal conflict between humans and bears. By all accounts she should've died alone without ever experiencing love, but a girl sang to her at a critical moment and completely changed everything. Ginko fell hard and never forgot it. The whole reason she and Lulu Yurigasaki transferred to the school in the first place was to find that same girl again—they're basically working their way past some wall that's keeping them separated.
In Kureha's dreams, things get weirder: Ginko shows up dressed as a bear, talking about bears being the literal start and end of everything. Make of that what you will.
