Clembot is the Gym Leader of Lumiose Gym—or at least, it plays one. Clemont built this robot to run things while he's out adventuring with Ash and the others, which is basically all the time. The bot first showed up in Clemont's Got a Secret!, though trainers had heard its voice before that in Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!
The thing actually does its job pretty well. If you manage to beat Clembot in a battle, you'll earn the Voltage Badge, same as you would from Clemont himself. It's a pretty practical solution when you think about it—Clemont gets to travel around, and Lumiose Gym doesn't have to sit empty. Fans often note it's peak Clemont energy: why deal with a problem the normal way when you can just invent a robot?
