Dario was a wealthy merchant from Wall Sina with a reputation to match his status. He bought Kuklo specifically as a punching bag for his son Xavi—literally someone the kid could practice dominating to build up his confidence. On top of that, Dario had plans to arrange a marriage for his daughter Sharle, because apparently controlling every aspect of his children's lives wasn't enough.
