Li Nataku is a human-paopei hybrid—or rather, he was human once. He died young, but Taiitsu Shinjin brought him back to life using a lotus plant as his core. The result is someone emotionally distant and cold, with little warmth beyond a soft spot for his mother and Kou Tenshou. He exists mainly as a weapon, following Taikoubou's direction more than charting his own course.
Nataku carries a deep grudge against his father, whose actions destroyed the grave his mother had made for him after his death.
Over the course of the story, he accumulates paopeis—mostly gifts from Taiitsu Shinjin—that expand his combat abilities:
- Fukarin: Motorized boots that let him fly
- Kenkonken: Iron bracelets that home in on targets and strike with crushing force
- Kontenryou: A waist cloth that controls water
- Kinsen: A shoulder cannon firing destructive light beams
- Kasensou: An extendable spear
- Kyuryushinkatou II: A container useful for both protection and imprisonment
- Kinkousen: A super paopei originally belonging to Chou Kou Mei, implanted into Nataku before his confrontation with the Signpost of History
