Renge is a first grader at Asahigaoka Branch School and the youngest of three sisters—Kazuho and Hikage are her older siblings. She's got that weird kid energy: naturally curious, always poking around the countryside, asking questions about everything. But there's more going on behind those expressionless eyes than you'd think. She's actually pretty sharp and precocious for her age.
Her blank expression throws people off—makes her seem distant or hard to read—but she's genuinely friendly once you get to know her. She does well in school and has real talent for drawing. She carries a recorder around constantly and has this habit of inventing nicknames for people, which is peak first grader behavior.
Kaede's her favorite, which makes sense since Renge's been attached to her since babyhood. She calls her "Candy Store," and they're tight. Her standard greeting is "Nyanpasu"—kind of her signature thing at this point.
