Yuusuke is a fisherman from the Land of Fire. As a kid, he and his dad went after a massive summoned marlin—and it didn't go well. His father died in the attempt, which left Yuusuke with one driving goal: catch that marlin and avenge him.
His character design was actually based on his voice actor, singer Yuusuke Kamiji. Kamiji also performed "Otakebi," the theme song for Naruto Shippūden 5: Blood Prison, which dropped just a week before Yuusuke showed up in the anime.
