Kou Tenka is Kou Hiko's second son and a disciple at Konron. He was discovered and brought on as a doushi by Seikyo Dotoku Shinkun, one of the Juunisen. He's got his father's strong spirit and combat ability, though he inherited his mother's black hair instead.
You'll notice him right away—he's always got a cigarette in his mouth and has this distinctive speech pattern where he adds "-sa" to the end of sentences. In terms of abilities, he's skilled with the lightsaber-type paopei called Bakuya no Hoken. Later on he picks up additional weapons: Karyuhyo, a fire-emitting boomerang paopei, and Sanshintei, a set of tiny lightsabers. After the sennin battle at Kingou, his master hands him Bakuya no Hoken 2—an upgraded version with blades on both sides of the handle.
What really defines Kou Tenka, though, is his absolute confidence in close-range fighting and his warrior's pride. He absolutely can't stand losing, and that competitive edge sometimes gets the better of him—he's prone to jumping to conclusions and coming across as rough around the edges because of it.
