Kana's known as the rebellious type—a classic troublemaker with a soft spot for Shinichi. She's drawn to him partly because of how sensitive he is, but there's more to it than that. She can actually sense something off about him, though she doesn't quite understand what. Turns out she has some kind of psychic ability that lets her detect Parasites, which is pretty rare.
The catch is her senses aren't nearly as sharp as an actual Parasite's, so she can't distinguish between sensing Shinichi specifically and picking up on any random Parasite in the area. This inability to tell the difference puts her in real danger—she might walk straight into a threat thinking she's found Shinichi.
