He's best known for being the childhood friend of both Kazuya and Jun, and the three once made a pact to become perception artists together. His parents were actually notable figures in perception art themselves—they're credited with pushing the field forward in pretty significant ways, which definitely shaped his background.
As a grader, he's got legitimate skills. People tend to notice his sharp intellect right away, and he's surprisingly well-rounded athletically too. He doesn't seem to struggle with much of anything, honestly.
