Skywarp was the first Transformer to wake up on Earth in 1984, and he's basically responsible for getting Megatron and the rest of the Decepticons back online. After four million years asleep, he got reformatted to look like an F-15 Eagle—same as Starscream and Thundercracker—and the three of them usually fought together. He demonstrated his signature teleportation ability early on while battling Ironhide and Bluestreak.
He's a fan favorite, but honestly, Skywarp rarely did much beyond being a dependable Decepticon foot soldier. What made him memorable was his weird habit of sucking up to Megatron's leadership in front of Starscream, clearly enjoying how it got under the guy's skin. Among the Autobots, he was basically nobody—Optimus Prime barely acknowledged him by name, and even Starscream's mentions of him are sparse.
That said, whenever Skywarp showed up, it usually mattered. He caused chaos while holding a supercharged Megatron and got distracted by Chip Chase. He abandoned his post guarding the Andes to help steal steel. His teleport ability gave the Decepticons a serious edge in combat, letting him zap Autobots during the Autobot Run races while they were stuck in vehicle form. He even got forced into helping Starscream break into Cybertron's spacebridge to steal the personalities needed for the Combaticons.
The Decepticon jets—Skywarp, Thundercracker, and Starscream—regularly dominated Earth military forces in aerial combat.
One weird moment came in "The Immobilizer," when Skywarp tested out a "Bouncer Bomb" that immediately went haywire. Megatron had to destroy it himself. That ability never showed up again anywhere in Transformers.
In 2005, after getting torn up during the battle for Autobot City, Skywarp was ejected into space along with Megatron and other wounded Decepticons. That's when he ran into Unicron, who basically ripped him apart and used the pieces to rebuild Galvatron's right-hand man, Cyclonus. Fans have debated whether Skywarp literally became Cyclonus, though animation errors make it impossible to say for certain.
