Saruogi is one of Izumi's classmates who gets pulled into the friend group during the Kyoto school trip. He's the type who's painfully shy and takes forever to get a word out—conversations with him require patience. Nekozaki has this story about him giving up his seat for an elderly woman on the train, except he got so flustered he ended up getting off at the wrong stop and showed up late anyway. It's kind of a perfect encapsulation of how he operates. After talking things through with Izumi, though, Saruogi decides he's going to work on being a bit more assertive going forward.
