Tomoka's dad initially wasn't on board with his daughter playing basketball, mostly because of some trouble that went down at her last school. He was pretty protective about it, honestly—you can't blame the guy for having concerns. But Subaru managed to talk him around and get him to change his mind about the whole thing. He comes around to being supportive after that.
