Tesla is a slim male arrancar with blond hair, an odd blue marking on his right cheek, and an eyepatch over his right eye. He wears a lab coat-style jacket that sets him apart from typical arrancar fashion. His hollow mask remnants are minimal—just a thin upper jaw forming a circlet around his forehead.
Despite being a Numero, Tesla's power rivals that of a captain-level fighter. He blocked Chad's Diablo attack (though Chad was weakened at the time) and managed to seriously wound Ichigo while the latter was in a weakened bankai state.
Tesla clearly idolizes Nnoitra, which shows in small ways like his eyepatch mirroring his master's. He's fiercely loyal too—he stands by Nnoitra even after taking criticism from him, and later shields him against Chad's final assault. Nnoitra uses him as muscle: first ordering him to restrain Orihime during his fight with Ichigo, then telling him to finish Ichigo off. Tesla doesn't hold back, pummeling the weakened Ichigo in his released form until Kenpachi Zaraki stops him with a brutal counterattack. After Nnoitra falls, Tesla is left on the ground in his unreleased state, crying over his master.
His zanpakutō, Verruga, takes the form of a rapier with a solid chakram embedded just above the hilt. He can toggle the ring between solid and hollow states—a trick he uses when blocking Chad's assault. He releases it by saying "crush." In his released form, Tesla becomes a massive, warthog-like creature with his mask expanding across his entire face, complete with tusks and a flowing mane. A large scar marks where his eyepatch sits in his unreleased form. Released Tesla relies on brute force to overwhelm opponents.
