Masahiko is Uta's father and known for being a hardworking guy who loves cracking jokes and puns—much to his daughters' annoyance. He's got a running gag where Uta frantically hides My Melody whenever he comes around, especially in the kitchen, pretending she's just a stuffed toy. He once had a memorable freak-out moment when My Melody actually served him coffee face-to-face.
Things got weird when Kuromi cast a spell on him that made him temporarily the fastest man alive, but My Melody's brother and grandfather eventually broke the enchantment and he finally warmed up to her. He also had a hilarious overreaction when he found out Uta was dating Kogure in Sukkiri—he was furious at first, but came around eventually.
