Ichika is the main character of Infinite Stratos and a first-year student at the IS academy. He's best known for being the first—and so far only—male IS pilot, which has made him something of a celebrity whether he realizes it or not. He pilots the Byakushiki.
His older sister Chifuyu is a legendary IS pilot who basically raised him after their parents abandoned them both as kids. Ichika tends to be pretty oblivious to what's going on around him, relying heavily on internal monologues to work through situations, though he's not always great at keeping his tactics hidden. More notably, he's famously dense when it comes to reading people—especially the girls constantly trying to get his attention, whether through hints or outright confessions. He rarely picks up on their feelings no matter how obvious they make it.
