Koharu is a short, slender girl with maroon hair styled in a side ponytail secured with a cherry blossom clip. She has fair skin and distinctive asparagus-green eyes. She's the daughter of Professor Sakuragi and attends school in Vermilion City.
On first impression, Koharu comes across as cold and distant—she's naturally aloof and prefers her own company. That said, she does have a small circle of friends. Her prickly side shows when people rub her the wrong way; she can get verbally sharp pretty quickly. Being easily exasperated, she's built walls around herself partly because she hates when others make assumptions about who she is.
She and Go are childhood friends, and it's clear she cares about him—she's always on his case about homework and keeping himself in line. During her time around town, she's usually accompanied by her family's Yamper. Unlike Ash and Go, though, Koharu isn't chasing a Pokémon adventure; she's focused on her studies instead.
