Kaiza was a traveling fisherman who drifted into the Land of Waves looking for a fresh start. He's best known for saving a drowning kid named Inari and deciding to stick around—eventually marrying Inari's mother, Tsunami, and becoming the father figure the boy needed. He taught Inari about life and what it meant to protect the people you care about.
When the crime boss Gatō started muscling in on the Land of Waves, Kaiza was one of the few willing to push back against him. That resistance cost him everything. Gatō had his men cut off Kaiza's arms and kill him, making a brutal example out of him to discourage anyone else from fighting back. It's a dark turning point in the story—the kind of thing that shapes Inari's entire character going forward.
