Akane Hiyama is one of the main characters in the series and a high school student in Seiji Aino's class. She's madly in love with him—though the feeling isn't exactly mutual at first, since Seiji is actually after Akane herself, who's the school's popular idol. The twist is that her personality is way more intense than he expected.
Despite their different last names, Akane is also the older sister of Yuzu Kichougasaki.
She's a textbook yandere, even if she came across as an innocent girl when she was first introduced. She won't hesitate to attack anyone who shows romantic interest in Seiji, and she's made it clear she'd kill them if push came to shove. The series doesn't waste time proving this either—in the first episode, she stabs Seiji repeatedly. He survives only because Guri reveals they're both temporary angels and can't actually die from it.
