Misaki is Azusa's second wife and mother to Ayeka and Sasami. She's known for her incredible physical strength and serves as the supreme commander of Jurai's royal bodyguards. Born into House Kamiki of the royal family—her mother is Seto Jurai and her adopted sister is Noike Kamiki Jurai—she's managed to maintain a surprisingly good relationship with Azusa's first wife, Funaho, whom she refers to respectfully as Oneesama.
The series hints at something far stranger beneath the surface. Episode 19 reveals that Misaki may be developing into a god-like being that Z calls the "counter-actor." This wasn't just speculation either; Kajishima's doujinshi "Omatsuri Zenjitsu no Yoru" confirmed it's the real Misaki, not an impostor. The evidence goes back further—his earlier Tenchi novel "Jurai" contained cryptic foreshadowing about her, warning that "the galaxy will know the true terror of Misaki" and that "only Tenchi could stop her." When she actually attacks Tokimi and nearly kills her, Tenchi appears in a glowing form to intervene, and the two kiss before vanishing.
As a mother, Misaki is fiercely protective and particular about how her daughters address her. In episode 13, when Ayeka cries out "Okaa-sama!" in a high-pitched voice, Ryoko finds it hilarious—until Misaki stretches her face as punishment. Ayeka shows no sympathy, having warned Ryoko beforehand. Ryoko only escapes further retaliation when Sasami produces a handwritten apology sign. This incident apparently traumatized Ryoko enough that in episode 14, she refuses to answer the door, convinced Misaki is on the other side (it's actually just Tenchi's sister Tennyo).
