Bete is one of Agastia's more recent creations—a wolfman design that got a pretty wild mid-development pivot. Originally conceived as a male werewolf, the project got derailed when someone higher up demanded the finished product be "cuter," forcing a last-minute transformation into a wolfgirl instead. It's the kind of creative chaos that probably gave the development team headaches.
Despite a rocky first encounter with Blader, Bete managed to survive the clash intact. Rather than being scrapped or reassigned elsewhere, Bete ended up transferred to the Monster Development Department, where they now work as an assistant—basically helping cook up the next generation of Agastia's monsters.
