Izutsumi joined Laios' party after breaking away from her role as one of Shuro's retainers. Like all of Shuro's attendants, her name ties to plants—hers referencing the Japanese andromeda, asebi.
She's got a prickly personality. While not outright aggressive, she's quick to get annoyed, especially when people try to be physically affectionate with her (head pats are basically a guaranteed way to set her off). She comes across as standoffish at first, though she's not actually distant once you get to know her. She tends to put herself first, but she's genuinely learning what it means to work as part of a team and has started finding her place among the group.
Her main drive is finding someone who can break the curse on her body, and this desperation makes her impatient. She gets frustrated easily with what she sees as the party's slow progress through the dungeon.
As for eating habits, she has pretty terrible manners and is incredibly picky. She loves fish, meat, and crab but absolutely hates vegetables and mushrooms—though there was that one time she actually enjoyed mushrooms in hamburg steak sauce. Don't count on it sticking around though; when everyone else had Crispy Mushroom and Egg Sandwiches later on, hers came with no mushrooms, confirming she was back to despising them. She's also not above dumping her unwanted chores onto someone else.
