Noir
Noir is the third son of a so-called "beggar noble"—basically a nobleman who's fallen on hard times. He went through Jastal Youth Rearing school like most kids of his station, but things didn't go smoothly after graduation. He bounced around without steady work for a while, genuinely lost about what to do next. Right when he was seriously considering the whole adventurer route as a last resort, his luck changed. He landed something better, though the details of exactly what saved him aren't always clear in retellings. Either way, he dodged what could've been a rough path.
