Hatterene is a small, humanoid Pokémon with a thin white body and a distinctly witchy appearance. Its round head sits above a pink semi-translucent dress, but what really defines the species is its absurdly long, flowing hair—a gradient of baby blue, pale pink, and white that drapes all the way to the ground like a cloak and makes up most of its visible mass. The hair is shaped like a wide-brimmed witch's hat complete with a pointed crown. From that pointed tip extends a single tentacle ending in a pink bulb, which connects to a baby-blue hand-shaped bulb with three sharp, articulated claws. It has narrow black eyes with white pupils and pink elliptical markings above each eye. Hatterene is female-only.
Personality-wise, Hatterene is solitary and reclusive, deliberately broadcasting psychic powers strong enough to give people headaches—basically its way of saying "leave me alone." It hates loud noises and will shred whoever's making them with those claws. In the anime, Hatterene shows a playful, almost sadistic streak, messing with people's minds and creating illusions purely for entertainment. It seems the species genuinely enjoys taunting others, both human and Pokémon, for kicks. As a result, it's earned the nickname the Forest Witch, living in isolated forests where nothing else dares to go. It gets around through levitation and short-distance teleportation, since all that hair pretty much conceals its actual body.
Hatterene evolves from Hattrem and represents the final stage of its evolutionary line.
Gigantamax Hatterene
When Gigantamaxed, Hatterene balloons to colossal size while keeping its basic design. Its eyes shift to blue with white pupils, and its hair massively increases in volume, forming a chamber around its body with teardrop-shaped openings on both sides. The hat crown now ends in a pink bulb attached to a larger baby-blue bulb sprouting three long tentacles. Called the Raging Goddess, this form is absolutely terrifying—it can sense emotions from over 30 miles away and will attack anything it perceives as hostile. Those tentacles can fire off energy beams similar to lightning.
