Yuber is basically a complete enigma. Known only as The Black Knight, virtually nothing is confirmed about him—not even his gender. The only concrete facts are that he wields the Eightfold Rune, a True Rune with mysterious powers, and he possesses abilities that clearly exceed normal human limits.
He has a habit of showing up wherever major conflicts break out. During the Gate Rune Wars, the Dunan Unification War, and the Second Fire Bringer War, Yuber was there—often working as a subordinate to Windy, helping her hunt down True Runes while leaving destruction in his wake. When the Highland Army needed muscle during the Dunan Unification War, they hired him, apparently because Leon Silverberg had some prior connection to him.
Yuber's motivations are pretty transparent when they're visible at all. He joined Luc's scheme to destroy the True Wind Rune simply because the plan would trigger chaos and mass death—exactly the kind of thing he enjoys. But he's also a pragmatist: the moment a conflict turns against him, he bails to save his own skin, which fits his mercenary nature perfectly.
What's genuinely strange is his vendetta against other True Rune wielders. He actively hunts them down, but nobody knows why. The only person who seems to have real insight into Yuber is Pesmerga, who himself is shrouded in mystery. All Pesmerga will say is that Yuber is like a shadow.
