Gu Ling became connected to Lingxiao Pavilion when she rescued Fan Lingxiao from bandits—after that, Lingxiao joined the sect. Things took a turn after Sect Leader Fan died, though. The pavilion basically fell apart, leaving just four members to hold things together. They ended up choosing Gu Ling to lead them forward. She took the role seriously, driven by a personal mission to rebuild Lingxiao Pavilion and honor Sect Leader Fan's memory.
