Rodd Reiss is Historia's biological father, though he's spent years hiding behind his identity as a Wall Sina nobleman. He's actually the true holder of the Founding Titan—the real deal, unlike the figurehead royalty most people think runs things. As a member of the Reiss family, he's got access to all the secrets and power that come with that lineage, which he's been pretty protective of.
Most fans know him as the driving force behind a lot of the shadier political maneuvering in the series. He's willing to do whatever it takes to keep his family's grip on power intact, even if it means manipulating Historia or using extreme methods to secure the Founding Titan for himself. His whole operation depends on nobody realizing just how much influence he actually has.
