Pekola is a fallen angel who lost her halo during the fall from Heaven. Without it, she's stuck on Earth indefinitely—she can't go home until someone helps her get it back. This puts her in the same boat as Jashin-chan, though Pekola's situation is arguably worse.
While Jashin-chan at least has a roof over her head at Yurine's place, Pekola has no one. She ends up sleeping rough in a cardboard box on the streets. Eventually she scrapes together some income through a string of low-paying part-time jobs, and also works as a bodyguard for another fallen angel named Poporon.
