Red Alert serves as the Autobots' Security Director, and his paranoia actually works in his favor for the job—most of the time. The problem is he tends to let it run wild without much help from reason or logic. His obsessive attention to detail and genuine desire to protect the team earn him respect from the other Autobots, but his track record of false alarms has seriously damaged his credibility. When Red Alert actually spots a real threat, nobody takes him seriously anymore.
Inferno, his closest friend, basically spends half his time keeping Red Alert from spiraling into full conspiracy mode.
