She took Ginko in after a landslide orphaned him, raising him and teaching him about the Mushi—though she kept something important hidden from him. As a Mushi master, she's paid a steep price for her knowledge: her hair lost its color and her right eye was claimed by the Mushi inhabiting the pond on her property. She occasionally narrates the opening and closing sequences of the anime.
