Yuto runs the Drama Club and basically acts as its father figure, even though the members give him plenty of grief about it. He's built himself a reputation as the cool, capable guy—someone people can rely on—and that image means everything to him. He loves messing with Eruna just to see how she'll react, and he's clearly into gaming, though he'd never fully admit it. You can catch hints of it in how he gets excited at arcade shooting games.
The thing is, none of that cool-guy persona is actually real. As a kid, he was quiet and withdrawn, which made him pretty friendless compared to his outgoing little brother. When his parents split and his mom took his brother with her, Yuto internalized it as a rejection—figured nobody needed him since he couldn't express himself properly. So he basically copied his brother's personality and reinvented himself from scratch. His actual self is awkward, sensitive, and kind of tsundere, which is exactly why he's so desperate to keep the mask on. He knows it'll slip eventually, but the thought of losing people terrifies him.
His smiles are mostly part of the act, though lately his real ones have been showing through more. And when he fights? That's when the mask really cracks. Both Asuhi and Eruna have noticed how genuinely scary he gets when he drops the act in battle.
