She's the kind of person you barely notice at first—the type who fades into the background without trying. That changes when she stops hiding behind her glasses and hair-tie, and suddenly her classmates actually see her as a person worth befriending. She's been the target of bullying before, so it took time to open up, but she eventually found real friendship with Yurishiro Ginko.
Her recurring dream haunts her: always the same girl in a bear costume. It's unsettling enough that she started wondering if one of her classmates might actually be hiding something.
The anime version gives her a much darker backstory. Her mother was killed by a bear over a decade ago, and the trauma never left her. She's carried that hatred forward, swearing to hunt down every bear she encounters. Things got even worse when her only real friend and the person she loved, Izumino Sumika, was also attacked by a bear. After that, she wanted nothing to do with anyone—no new friendships, definitely not joining anything like the "Invisible Storm."
That attitude started to shift when two transfer students arrived, though. Slowly, over time, they managed to get through to her.
