Monju
In Japanese Buddhism, Monju is venerated as the wisest of all Bodhisattvas. He's best known today as a figure students pray to for help with school exams and developing calligraphy skills. The tradition remains popular enough that temples dedicated to him still see regular visits from people hoping for academic success.
