Lieutenant Kitsurubami
Lieutenant Kitsurubami works as second-in-command under Amarao at the Interstellar Immigration Bureau. She's best known for handling briefings and joining Amarao on field investigations—basically keeping things running while he does his thing.
Despite looking up to Amarao as her superior and following orders without question, she's visibly uncomfortable around him romantically. When he makes a move on her in the final episode, she shuts it down hard. She even freaks out after accidentally drinking from his water container, which tells you how much physical proximity to him bothers her. The running joke is that she seems genuinely disgusted by the idea of any romantic involvement with him.
Interestingly, she goes through a complete 180 with Canti. She starts out trying to snipe him with a 50-caliber rifle, but somewhere along the way she catches feelings for him instead.
Among the cast, she stands out as probably the only genuinely mature, "normal" adult—which makes her all the more amusing when she's freaking out or getting flustered.
Her name comes from kitsurubami, a traditional Japanese color that's a light brown shade. It happens to match her skin tone perfectly, so you could loosely read her name as "Lieutenant Brown," though it's a specific, less common brown than what most people think of.
