Rin Kagawa followed in the footsteps of her seniors—Tanaka Ayumu, Kakuryuu Takeru, and Mikage Sakurako—attending the same middle and high schools as all of them. In middle school, she was active in the Kendo Club before switching to the Shogi Club, largely inspired by watching Ayumu play. She's genuinely competitive by nature and loves testing herself against her senpais, particularly Ayumu and Takeru, whether in shogi matches or kendo sparring.
