Daiya Irma is one of the Processors in the Spearhead Squadron and a four-year veteran of the Eastern Battlefront, where he earned the codename Black Dog. He's known for being prone to awkward situations—most memorably, he accidentally walked in on the girls bathing in a creek and got pelted with objects for his trouble.
Despite his clumsiness, Daiya has a genuinely tactful and compassionate side. He's shown real sensitivity toward his squadmates: he comforted Kurena when Lena's presence was getting on her nerves, and Anju still remembers him complimenting her hair back in their first squadron, even though he clearly knew she was only growing it out to cover her scars. He and Anju have been together since conscription and are close friends.
