Megakaryocytes are giant cells found in bone marrow—basically the factory floor where platelets get made. They're actually the biggest cells you'll find hanging around in there, which makes sense given their whole job is churning out thousands of these tiny blood clotting fragments. The name pretty much says it all: "mega" for huge, "karyocyte" for cell with a nucleus.
