Sumire is the daughter of the kumicho of Kansai's Kadokanegumi, and the twin sister of Tsubaki. She sticks close to Asago on the school graduation trip and considers her a friend, despite Asago grumbling about it and trying to avoid her. Knowing the difficulties of growing up as a kumicho's daughter, Sumire encourages Asago, whom she affectionately calls "Asa-yan", to open up to her. She believes that Ryuuji and Kuryugumi are to blame for the stress that Asago is under.
