A South Korean spy went deep undercover in North Korean mines, assuming the identity of Shim Jung-Soo—a North Korean prisoner caught watching South Korean dramas. While working in the mines, he crossed paths with Lee Soo-Jin and eventually found himself trying to protect her.
When things went south and Soo-Jin got knocked unconscious, he made a desperate move: summoning his Charyeok beast to get her to safety. His Sapsal Dog was tasked with pulling her away from Ryu, a ruthless operative determined to eliminate anyone who could testify against him. Before they separated, he managed to tell the barely-conscious Soo-Jin to live free—a moment that probably stuck with her.
Ryu came after him in retaliation, hunting for Soo-Jin. Rather than go down easy, he unleashed his Moonlight Sword technique, blinding Ryu instead of killing him. It was a calculated choice that bought him time and changed the outcome of their confrontation.
