Hajime Sugimoto runs the photography club and has earned the nickname "in-focus-senpai" from his members. He's a year ahead of Mitsuyoshi and genuinely smart—his grades prove it—but he's got a problem with filtering his thoughts. Whatever pops into his head tends to come straight out of his mouth, which gets him into trouble more often than not.
His real passion is photography, specifically nude photography, which he's pretty open about wanting to pursue professionally. He's constantly daydreaming about it, honestly. He's also a devoted fan of gravure idol and model HINA, which probably doesn't help his reputation. His childhood friend Hinako Hasegawa seems to be constantly bickering with him over something or other—a dynamic that apparently defines their relationship.
