She's the daughter of the Natsume tea house. Growing up, she lost her mother young, which pretty much shaped who she is—she's genuinely shy around people she doesn't know. The thing is, she has Matsuko, a doll her mother left behind, and that doll basically means everything to her. She spends most of her time with it, which tells you a lot about how close they are.
