Anarai
A brilliant scientist and Ikta Solork's mentor—widely regarded as the greatest mind in his field, though that reputation comes with serious baggage. Science itself is treated as heresy in this world, which has made Anarai a pariah in many circles; he's regularly branded a blasphemer for his work.
The contradictions in his life are pretty striking. He's officially employed by the Republic, developing weapons for them, but he's deliberately sabotaging that loyalty by leaking his blueprints to the Empire. He frames it as maintaining balance between the two nations, though whether that's genuine idealism or something more complicated remains unclear. Either way, he's playing a dangerous game—working for one side while secretly arming the other.
